Overview

Lying in the heart of Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Vakkaru Maldives is a secluded reef island blessed with timeless ocean views, powder-soft, brilliant white sands, deep blue holes and a house reef with unique marine biodiversity. The island was once a coconut plantation and presently home to over 2,300 fully grown coconut trees, hence the name ‘Vakkaru’ which means coconut timber in local language, Dhivehi.
